FORD TURNS UP THE HEAT!

undefined

In the ultra-cold Canadian winter climate, it is essential that our vehicles are up to the challenge. Committed to gaining a deeper understanding as to how its vehicles could better assist drivers in harsh winter conditions, Ford deployed a team north. The extreme climate team set out to host a customer clinic in Edmonton, Alberta, to hear what drivers had to say about the challenges they faced on the road. Now Ford is using this feedback to give customers more of what they need!

Customers told Ford the needed more accessible cold weather features and Ford listened with features including:

  • Windshield wiper de-icer that works by using a local heating element where the wiper blades rest to remove light snow and ice from wiper blades in under 10 minutes at minus 18 degrees Fahrenheit
  • All-weather floor mats featuring deep grooves and raised ridges that catch and hold snow, slush and mud, while protecting vehicle carpeting
  • Heated side mirrors that warm to melt ice and snow for improved visibility
  • Heated seats to keep driver and front passenger comfortable as temperatures drop
  • Available heated steering wheel to keep hands warm in the coldest temperatures

This impressive suite of cold weather tech can be found on the new 2017 Ford Escape and with the temperatures quickly dropping and snow on the ground, there isn’t a better time to get into an Escape! With available remote start capability, courtesy of SYNC Connect, drivers can tackle this year’s polar vortex with ease!
